Ingredients
Beef – 750 gm cut into pieces
Basmati rice – 2 1/2 cups
Oil – 2 tbsp
Cloves – 6
Cardamom – 6
Cinnamon – 2 pieces
Garlic – 2 tbsp chopped
Ginger – 2 tbsp chopped
Onions – 3 big sliced
Green chillies – 7 slit
Curry leaves – 2 sprigs
Tomatoes – 2 chopped
Biriyani masala – 1 tsp
Coriander powder – 1 tsp
Turmeric powder – 3/4 tsp
Pepper powder – 3/4 tsp
Chilly powder – 1 tsp
Garam masala – 3/4 tsp
Water – 1 cup
Salt – to taste
Coriander leaves – 2 tbsp chopped
Mint leaves – 2 tbsp chopped
Lime juice – 2 tsp
Coconut milk – 1 cup
Rose water – 2 tsp
Ghee – 2 tsp
Cashew nuts – 2 tbsp
Golden raisins – 2 tbsp
Method
Heat ghee in a pressure cooker and fry cashew nuts and raisins. Keep them aside. Add oil to the remaining ghee in the cooker and fry whole spices followed by ginger and garlic. Add onions, green chillies and curry leaves. When the onions turn light brown, add tomatoes and salt. Then add the spice powders and fry till the aroma comes out. Add the beef and 1 cup of water, mix well and pressure cook for 30 minutes or till done. Let it cool. Meanwhile, soak the rice in water for 30 minutes. Open the cooker, drain and add the rice, coriander and mint leaves, lime juice, coconut milk and rose water. Close the lid and pressure cook for 5 minutes. Allow it to cool. Garnish it with fried cashew nuts and raisins. Serve delicious ‘Erachi Choru / Beef Pulao’ with salad, pickle and pappads. Enjoy with your loved ones!
