Ingredients
Beef with bones – 500 gm
Oil – 2 tbsp
Ginger – 1 tbsp crushed
Garlic – 1 tbsp crushed
Onions – 2 sliced
Green chillies – 4 slit
Curry leaves – 2 sprigs
Tomato – 1 chopped
Coriander powder – 2 tsp
Turmeric powder – 1/2 tsp
Meat masala – 2 tsp
Chilly powder – 1 1/2 tsp
Pepper powder – 3/4 tsp
Water – 1 cup
Salt – to taste
Green papaya – 1 cup diced
Aniseed powder / Perumjeerakam – 1/2 tsp
Garam masala – 3/4 tsp
Lime juice – 1 tsp
Method
Heat oil in a pressure cooker and fry ginger and garlic. Add onions, green chillies and curry leaves. Fry till the onions turn golden brown. Add the tomatoes and fry for a minute. Add the spice powders and stir till the aroma comes out. Now add the beef cubes, water and salt. Pressure cook till almost done. Allow it to cool. Open the lid and add papaya, aniseed powder, garam masala and lime juice. Mix well and pressure cook for another 5 minutes on a low flame, after the first whistle. Delicious ‘Green Papaya And Beef Curry’ is now ready. Serve it as a side dish along with rice, chapathi, phulka, puttu, appam, idiyappam, idli, dosa or bread. Enjoy!
