Ingredients
Jackfruit seeds – 20
Water – 3/4 cup
Drumsticks – 2
Prawns – 100 gm
Turmeric powder – 1/2 tsp
Chilly powder – 1/4 tsp
Water – 1 1/2 cups
Salt – to taste
Raw mango pieces – 4 or more
For Grinding
Grated Coconut – 1 cup
Turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp
Green chillies – 4
Cumin seeds – 1/4 tsp
Garlic – 2 small
For Tempering
Coconut oil – 1 tbsp
Mustard seeds – 1/2 tsp
Small onions – 6 sliced
Dry red chillies – 4 broken, seeds removed
Curry leaves – 2 sprigs
Method
Remove the outer skin of the jackfruit seeds and soak them in water overnight. Remove the brown skin, wash and cut them into two, lengthwise. Pressure cook the seeds with 3/4 cup of water for 6 minutes or till done. Grind the ingredients mentioned above to a fine paste. Cook drumsticks along with prawns, turmeric powder, chilly powder and salt in 1 1/2 cups of water. When it is half cooked, add the mangoes and cooked jackfruit seeds. When it is done, add the ground paste and mix well. Simmer for 2 minutes and switch off the flame. Fry the ingredients for tempering and pour over the curry. Serve lip-smacking ‘Chakkakuru Manga Curry / Jackfruit Seeds Mango Curry’ with rice. Enjoy!
