Ingredients
Pumpkin – 1/2 kg cut into pieces
Prawns – 100 gm
Channa dhal – 1/2 cup
Water – 1 cup
Turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp
Oil – 1 tbsp
Mustard seeds – 1/2 tsp
Cumin seeds – 1/4 tsp
Garlic – 2 tsp crushed
Onion – 1 medium chopped
Green chillies – 2 slit
Curry leaves – 2 sprigs
Chilli flakes – 1 1/2 tsp
Salt – to taste
Method
Pressure cook the dhal along with 1 cup of water for 5 minutes on a low flame, after the first whistle. Let it cool. Add pumpkin, prawns and turmeric powder. Pressure cook for another 3 minutes. Heat oil in a non-stick pan and splutter mustard seeds and cumin seeds. Add garlic and fry for a few seconds. Add onions, green chillies and curry leaves. When the onions turn light brown, add the chilli flakes. Add the cooked pumpkin prawn and dhal mixture. Add salt to taste. Mix gently and simmer till the mixture is almost dry. Serve ‘Pumpkin Prawn and Dhal Stir Fry’ as a side dish with rice or chapathis. Enjoy!
This is yet another combination i have never had, looks delicious, i was thinking while i was here, it will be very nice for your daughter when she want to cook something , she just have to come and chekc here for the recipes 🙂
