phulkas1

Method

Take the flour in a large pan and mix with salt.  Pour water as required and make a soft dough.  Add 1 tsp of oil and knead well.  The dough should not be too hard nor too soft.  Cover it and keep aside for about an hour.  Now knead the dough once again and make lemon-sized balls.  Dust the rolling surface and roll a ball into round shaped phulka, using a rolling pin.  Dust in between to avoid sticking to the surface.   Heat a tawa and place the phulka on it.  When it starts to bubble, turn and cook on the other side for 30 seconds.  Remove the tawa from the flame and place the phulka on a high flame with the help of tongs.  When it starts to puff up, flip on the other side and cook.  It only takes a few seconds to cook on both sides.  Repeat the same process and make phulkas with all the balls.  Serve healthy and tasty ‘Phulka / Roti’ with any side dish of your choice.  Cheers!
