Beef Fried Rice

Ingredients

Thai Jasmine Rice/ Jeera Rice – 2 cups

Water – 3 cups

Cooked Beef – 1 cup shredded

Beaten Eggs – 2

Garlic – 1 big chopped

Onions – 3/4 cup chopped

Bok choy or Cabbage – 1 cup shredded

Celery – 2 tbsp chopped

Spring onions -2 tbsp

Soy sauce – 2 tsp

Beef stock – 1/2 cup

Pepper powder – 3/4 tsp

Salt – to taste

MSG/Aginomotto – 1/4 tsp (optional)

Oil – 2 tsp + 1 tsp + 1 tbsp

Method

Cook the rice along with water in a rice cooker.  Let it cool.  Heat 2 tsp of oil in a non- stick wok and scramble the eggs.  Keep aside.  Add 1 tsp of oil and stir-fry the cooked beef for a minute.  Take it out.  Now add 1 tbsp of oil and add chopped garlic followed by the onions.  When the onions turn pink, add the bok choy and celery.  Saute for a minute and add the beef, rice, beef stock, soy sauce,  aginomotto, salt and pepper.  Stir-fry on high flame for 5 minutes.  Finally add the scrambled eggs and spring onions.  Delicious ‘Beef Fried Rice’ can be served as such or with any Chinese style side dish of your choice.  Enjoy!
