Fried Yam/ Chena Varuthathu

Ingredients

Yam – 1 kg

Turmeric powder – 1 tsp

Salt – to taste

Oil – for frying

Method

Apply some oil on your hands and remove the skin of the yam.  Cut it into small cubes, wash and marinate with salt and turmeric powder for 15 minutes.  Fry them in oil on a medium flame till golden brown in color.  Serve with rice.  Kids will love it!

For a spicier version, add 1 tsp of chilly powder while marinating the yam.
