Green Peas Soup

Now that winter is approaching, it is time that I started making soups. This soup is made with green peas and potatoes. It is a healthy and filling soup and is easy to prepare.

Ingredients:
Dry green peas -1\2 cup
Potaoes -2 medium
Water -1 cup
Onion -2 tbsp finely chopped
Water -2.5 cups
Milk -1.5 cups
Cream -1 tbsp
Butter -1 tbsp
Pepper powder -as required
Salt -to taste

Method:

Soak the dry green peas for 6 hrs. Wash and transfer to a pressure cooker. Cut the potatoes into cubes and add to the cooker. Pour 1 cup of water and close the lid. Cook for 5 minutes. Let it cool. Transfer it to a blender and puree it. Heat butter in a saucepan and add the chopped onion. Saute’ till it turns light brown. Add the pureed peas mixture, water and milk. Let it boil for about 5 minutes. Add salt and pepper to taste. Put off the fire when it is soup consistency. Finally add cream and mix well. Transfer to a bowl and drip with cream. Serve hot on cold winter nights!
