Ingredients

Minced Beef – 1 kg

Potatoes – 4

Onions – 3 big chopped

Ginger – 2′” piece minced

Green chillies – 4 minced

Pepper powder – 3/4 tsp

Garam masala – 2 tsp

Salt – to taste

Oil – 1 tbsp

Eggs – 2 beaten

Bread crumbs – as required

Oil – for frying

Method

Boil the potatoes and mash them well. Cook the minced beef with enough water and salt. Evapourate excess water and allow it to cool. Heat oil in a non-stick pan and saute onions, ginger and green chillies till the onions are light brown. Add pepper powder and garam masala and fry for a minute. Take the cooked mince in a vessel and break the lumps, if any. Add the mashed potatoes and mix well. Now add the sauted onion mixture and mix well. Add more salt if needed. Shape it into oval shaped cutlets. Take a cutlet, dip it in beaten egg and coat with bread crumbs. Repeat the process with the rest of the cutlets. You can freeze the beef cutlets at this stage. Deep fry the cutlets on a medium flame and serve hot with tomato sauce. Enjoy yummy beef cutlets with your kids!

Ingredients

Beef – 1 kg

Breadfruit – 1

Ginger – 2″ piece chopped

Green chillies – 6 slit

Salt – to taste

Onions – 2 sliced

Garlic – 4 chopped

Curry leaves – 2 sprigs

Tomatoes – 3 medium chopped

Meat masala powder – 3 tsp

Pepper powder – 2 tsp

Turmeric powder – 1 tsp

Garam masala – 1 tsp

Oil – 2 tbsp

Method

Wash and cut the beef into cubes. Transfer it to a pressure cooker and add ginger, green chillies and salt. Pour enough water to cover the beef and cook till done. It takes around 15 to 30 minutes depending upon the beef you are using. Meanwhile, peel and wash the breadfruit and cut it into cubes. Soak them in water, or else they will turn brown. Boil 2 cups of water in a vessel and add the breadfruit to it. Close with a lid and cook on medium flame till they are soft and tender. Heat oil in a pan and saute the onions, garlic and curry leaves. Add the tomatoes and fry till oil separates. Now add all the spice powders and saute till aroma comes out. Pour the cooked beef along with the water into the pan. Also add the cooked bread fruit. Mix well and close with a lid. Let it simmer for 10 minutes till the gravy is thick. Serve hot and enjoy with your loved ones!

Method

Wash and clean the beef cubes. Put it into a pressure cooker along with sliced onions, ginger and green chillies. Add salt and enough water to cover the beef. Close the lid and cook for 15 to 25 minutes. (The time depends on the quality of beef you are using.) Peel the boiled potatoes and carrots, and cut them into big cubes. Keep aside. In a large non-stick pan, heat oil and add peppercorns. Close the pan with a lid and allow the peppercorns to splutter. Reduce the heat and add cinnamon, cloves and cardamom. Stir for a few seconds and add the sliced onions and curry leaves. Fry till the onion turns pink. Add the cashew nuts and fry till they turn light brown. Now add the kismis and fry for few seconds more. Then add the cooked beef along with the water. Also add the potatoes and carrots. Pour the thin coconut milk and mix well. Cover and cook for about 5 minutes. Open the lid and add sugar and maida mixed with a little water. Add more salt if needed. Simmer it for another 5 minutes more. Stir occasionally. Finally add the thick coconut milk and mix well. When it is about to boil, switch off the flame. Mouthwatering ‘Beef Stew’ is ready to be served!

This recipe is my version of my mom’s special Beef Pepper Fry. It is my son’s favourite dish. This dish has three types of sauces in it which makes it a rare delicacy. You can also try the original recipe without the sauces.

Ingredients:

Beef -1 kg
Ginger-garlic paste -2 tbsp
Pepper powder -21\2 tsp
Turmeric powder -1\4 tsp
Garam masala -1 tsp
Tomato sauce -3 tbsp
Soya sauce -2 tbsp
Worcestershire sauce -1 tbsp
Salt -as required
Oil -2 tbsp
Onions (medium) -3 sliced
Potatoes -3 sliced
Oil -for frying

Method:

Cut the beef into small cubes. Marinate it with ginger-garlic paste, pepper powder, turmeric powder, garam masala, sauces and salt for half an hour. Add less salt, because the sauces already contain salt. Transfer it to a pressure cooker and cook till done. It might take10 to 25 minutes depending on the beef you are using. Meanwhile, smear the potatoe slices with 1\4 tsp of turmeric powder and a pinch of salt. Keep aside for about 10 minutes and fry them in oil till they become crisp. Remove the potatoes from oil. Now fry the onions in the same oil till they turn golden brown. Keep aside. Open the lid of the cooker and evaporate excess water. Heat 2 tbp oil in a non stick pan and add the cooked meat. Fry till they turn dark brown. Put off the fire and add the fried potatoes and onions. Mix well and serve hot with rice, rotis, bread or parathas.
