Fried Fish in Soy Sauce Gravy

Ingredients

Mackerel – 1 kg  cut into pieces

Turmeric powder – 1 tsp

Chilly powder – 1 tsp

Salt – 1 tsp

Oil – for frying + 1 tbsp

Chilly powder – 2 tsp

Onion – 1 medium sliced

Green chillies – 3 slit

Tomatoes – 4 cubed

Soy sauce – 2 tbsp

Oyster sauce – 2 tbsp

Sugar – 1/2 tsp

Salt – to taste

For Grinding

Small onions – 1/2 cup

Garlic – 4 big

Ginger – 2″ piece

Method

Marinate the fish pieces with turmeric powder, chilly powder and salt for 15 minutes.  Deep fry them in hot oil.  Grind the ingredients mentioned above to a fine paste.  Heat 1 tbsp of oil in a large non-stick wok and add the ground paste.  Saute well and add chilly powder.  Saute for a few seconds and add the onions, tomatoes and green chillies.  Saute for a minute and add the sauces, water, sugar and salt.  When it boils, add the fried fish and mix.  Cover and simmer for 2 minutes.  Lip-smacking ‘Fried Fish in Soy Sauce Gravy’ is ready.  Serve it with rice.  Enjoy!
