Teriyaki Beef Stir-fry

Ingredients

Beef –  1/2 kg thinly sliced

Teriyaki sauce – 5 tbsp (store-bought)

Ginger-garlic paste – 3 tsp

Oil – 2 tsp + 1 tbsp

Onion – 1 diced

Green and Yellow  Capsicums – 1/2 cup each, diced

Bird’s eye chillies – 2 sliced

Pepper powder – 1/4 tsp

Spring onions – 2 tbsp chopped

Salt, sugar, vinegar – add only if needed

Method

Marinate the beef with teriyaki sauce and ginger-garlic paste for at least 2 hrs or overnight.  Cook the beef in a pressure cooker till done.  Fry the cooked beef pieces in 2tsp oil.  Keep aside the leftover gravy.  (You can fry the beef directly in oil.  I cooked it to use less oil for frying.)  Heat 1 tbsp of oil in a non-stick pan and add the onions, capsicum and chillies.  Saute for 2 minutes and add pepper powder.  Add the leftover gravy and mix well.  Add salt, sugar and vinegar only if needed.  Then add the fried beef and spring onions.  Stir-fry on high flame for a minute.  Yummy ‘Teriyaki Beef Stir-fry’ is ready to be served.  It goes well with rice, fried rice, noodles, pulao or rotis.  Cheers!

  3. Looks pretty good! I would like to try it out but what kind of beef cut do I use? Stewed beef or steak or any other cut? Could you please let me know?

    Thanks

  4. Hi RG,

You can use stewed beef or steak for this recipe. If you are using steak, stir fry it directly. Please let me know about the outcome…

    Happy Cooking,
