Chilly powder – 1 tsp

Heat oil in a pressure cooker and add the whole spices.  Then add the onions, green chillies and curry leaves.  Fry till the onions turn golden brown in color.  Add the ginger garlic paste and fry till the raw smell goes.  Add the spice powders and sprinkle some water.  Fry till the aroma comes out.  Add the pork pieces, tomato paste, soy sauce, water and salt.  Mix well and close with the lid.  Pressure cook for 15 to 30 minutes on a low flame, after the first whistle.  Serve delicious ‘Soy Sauce Pork Curry’ with rice, appam, dosa, chapathi or bread.  I am sure you will love it!

We do not get tomato paste… but I have fresh tomatoes… can I use those instead? If yes, then how many tomatoes and when do I add it?

  4. Hello Aseem,

You can add two tomatoes instead of 2 tbsp of tomato paste. Add the tomatoes after adding the spice powders and saute till oil separates.
